It is the case of farfetch. The luxury fashion online commerce company is the most popular Portuguese startup of the year, having been mentioned in 1,812 news items since the beginning of 2018.
THE Outsystems, which operates in the market for the rapid development of software applications, recently became the second company born in Portugal to achieve a valuation above one billion dollars (after the farfetch) and is also second in this ranking split, with a presence in 851 news items.
THE uniplaces, an online market for student accommodation, completes the podium of Portuguese startups with the most media coverage, with a total of 563 news items. The object of the study was all the news published, in the Portuguese editorial space, in more than two thousand media, in the period between January 1 and November 2, 2018, in a total of more than four million articles analyzed. .
The selection of companies on which the collection of information for this study focused was based on the startups selected to be present at the Web Summit, as well as other startups that stood out in terms of media this year.
The validation of the final list that was submitted to research in the database of split had the support of Corpcom, a Portuguese agency that since 2007 has been playing an important role in the communication of national and international startups, as well as in the communication of the Portuguese entrepreneurial ecosystem.
