At previous conferences, Ubisoft has already made two major announcements – Star Wars Outlaws and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. However, these are not all the surprises from the French publisher. In this article we cover the main events of Ubisoft Forward 2023.

Avatar: Borders of Pandora

The conference began with the presentation of a new game based on the Avatar universe. We were shown the colorful but dangerous planet of Pandora, its natives and evil people trying to destroy the peaceful life of the blue-skinned Na’vi. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora features open-world exploration, flying spiked bats, and fending off invaders with primal weapons and firearms. James Cameron himself left a comment on the project. The publication will take place on December 7, 2023.

Previous Avatar games were unsuccessful. We hope that this time we are waiting for a worthy project.

Pandora in the first Avatar was incredible. I wonder if this effect will remain in-game because of the motives.

XDefiant

Ubisoft Forward 2023 presented the gameplay of XDefiant, a free-to-play multiplayer first-person shooter. Externally, it resembles the latest games in the Call of Duty series, primarily Warzone 2. The open beta test of the game will take place from June 21 to 23, 2023.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

The new Prince of Persia has a theatrical trailer that resembles a humorous action cartoon. We also saw the gameplay of the game. Apparently the game will be an action platformer with Metroidvania elements. We told you more about The Lost Crown in a separate article. Released on January 18, 2024.

The first parts of the Prince of Persia series were also 2D platformers.

Captain Lasercraft Blood Dragon Remix

They showed the trailer for the animated series Captain Lasercraft Blood Dragon Remix, which will be a crossover of various Ubisoft series, primarily Far Cry, Assassin’s Creed and Watch_Dogs. The premiere will take place in autumn 2023.

Watching cartoons as a game?

Only the best on a regular basis, in the spirit of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners or Arcane. No, I’m not looking

Skull bones

The atmospheric trailer for the pirate action Skull & Bones was accompanied by a melodic song in the spirit of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. The game’s closed beta test will take place from August 25th to 28th, 2023.

The Crew Motorfest

The Crew Motorfest is the third part of the series. In the gameplay video, we were shown various game modes, from racing on neon tracks to off-road racing. Released on September 14th this year.

The first two installments of The Crew series were average races in every respect. The triquel looks much better in the first clips.

Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR

They showed a video from Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, the games for the virtual reality helmets Quest 2 and Quest 3. We will eliminate enemies with a hidden blade and shoot them with a bow from a first-person perspective. The main characters will be Ezio from the second part, Connor from the triquel and Cassandra from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Apparently, the action of the project will take place in different eras – from Ancient Greece to the War of Independence of the USA. The game will be released at the end of this year.

Assassin’s Creed can provide a unique gaming experience from a first-person perspective.

Do you own virtual reality glasses?

Yes, I play with them regularly. Yes, but they’re gathering dust in the closet. It existed, I sold it, I never had it

Assassin’s Creed Mirage

They showed the story trailer and the complete gameplay of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. The game looks and gameplay resembles the very first part of the series. The action will take place in Baghdad and the main character will be Basim ibn Ishak, known from Valhalla. They promise a small but well-developed open world and a bet on stealth. Among the interesting features, one can highlight the ability to mark multiple enemies and kill them with the press of a button, like in Splinter Cell: Conviction. The release is already on October 12, 2023.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is considered a return to the series’ origins.

Chronologically, Mirage will take place several years before the events of Valhalla.

Star Wars Outlands

They revealed the first details and showed the gameplay of the new Star Wars game. The main character of Outlaws is a thief who infiltrates enemy bases and steals valuable equipment. To achieve its goals, it relies on both stealth and marksmanship, using air and space transport to avoid pursuit. Parallels to the “Andor” series (Andor) arise naturally. The game will be released in 2024.
