Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update is here

Microsoft has released the final version of the Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update for mobile devices.

In early August, Microsoft started rolling out Windows 10 Anniversary Update in the version for PCs and laptops. It was then that the mobile version of the operating system was announced for August 10, 2016. Unfortunately, only today Microsoft started updating the final version of the mobile operating system Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update.

The new update of Microsoft’s mobile software, as well as the PC version, will be released successively, and the first update will be mobile devices (smartphones) that were already sold with Windows 10 Mobile installed and did not have a simlock.

On its official website, Microsoft states that system availability may depend on “manufacturer, model, country or region, mobile operator or service provider, hardware limitations and other factors”, so keep this in mind if you expect a quick OTA update (over the air).

How to check for Windows 10 Mobile updates on your smartphone?

If you are impatient and want to manually check if an update has already been made available for your smartphone model, go to Settings → Update and security → Phone update → Check for updates. Connect to a Wi-Fi wireless network in advance. Before upgrading your Windows 10 mobile system, back up your phone data – just in case.

The new version of the software brings many new features, including extensive multimedia notifications and their synchronization.
