Elon Musk’s Neuralink Could Be Implanted In Human Brains This Year

Elon Musk’s company, which aims to create a brain-computer interface of Neuralink, is getting ready to implant a Chipset in the human brain – and it could be this year.

Here is a viral video of a monkey equipped with Neura Link technology in the brain, using only his mind to play Pong. Neuralink is now looking to take the leap to human testing, taking a giant step towards implementing artificial intelligence in human minds.

Launched in 2016, Neuralink is another line in the Space X billionaire’s extensive business menu, in this case with the purpose of creating devices that can be incorporated into the human mind.

There’s a big mystery about how the technology actually works, Yahoo News reports that the startup is working on

Hi @elonmusk, I’ve been thinking for a long time how to write this to you – but I’ll keep it very simply:

I was in a car accident 20 years ago and have been paralyzed from the shoulders ever since. I’m always available for clinical studies at @Neuralink.

Please get in touch!

It’s interesting to think that this technology arrives sooner than expected, given that Musk used Twitter to fan expectations by responding to a man who was paralyzed in an accident, who asked when brain implants would become available to humans.

Musk replied: “Neuralink is working hard to ensure safety and is in close communication with the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). If things go well, we can do initial tests on humans later this year. ”

Clearly, Musk’s comments are very optimistic, however we must remain skeptical about the dates. In the past, Musk has identified Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s as two neurological disorders that could benefit from Neuralink’s work.

The University of Oxford Last year reported that Neuralink offers a that can preserve and significantly improve our brains. Ultimately, technology can make humans merge with artificial intelligence.

It’s too early to be sure and it’s always a good idea to be aware that Mr Musk is very effusive on Twitter, where it’s sometimes difficult to separate fact from exaggeration.
