A new studio Dark Passenger has opened in Poland, founded by people from CD Projekt RED. The team is made up of veterans and young professionals who have worked on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077, as well as created animations and cinematics for other games.
Dark Passenger is already working on its first project, a dark online first-person action game set in feudal Japan. The authors dream of creating an “immersive online experience” that combines co-op and elements of PVP and PVE. The engine chosen is Unreal Engine 5.
More details from the official website:
- Advanced movement system: Players can run on arrows fired by enemies, climb vertical surfaces with Shuko claws, use Yari spear as a jumping pole;
- Large selection of weapons: katanas, short tanto and wakizashi blades, kusarigama sickles, shurikens, kunai throwing knives and much more;
- A customization system that allows you to customize the appearance of your character and weapons and create your own dojo to invite other players to.
The project is in an early stage of development. The release is planned for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
