Even though GTA Online has been available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC for several years now, the game is still very popular. This is not only because Grand Theft Auto 5 and the online mode already have a lot to offer, but also because Rockstar Games regularly releases larger updates with many new features. If you play GTA Online more often with friends, you might ask yourself, what will crossplay actually look like in 2019? Can you play GTA Online on PS4 and PC together? As a PS4 player, can you play together and across platforms with players on the PC or Xbox One?
GTA Online: Play PS4, Xbox One and PC together?
The short answer to the question is, no, there is still no crossplay support in GTA Online in 2019. This means that you cannot play GTA Online together on PS4, Xbox One and PC, but only with players who are on the same platform, for example PS4 with PS4 player or PC with PC player.
Even though there are now a whole range of games such as Fortnite or the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare that you can play together with friends in crossplay without any problems, Rockstar Games has not yet integrated anything in this regard into GTA Online. This is probably also because the topic of crossplay was not as big an issue when GTA 5 and GTA Online were released as it is today and no triple-A title offered cross-platform play.
Crossplay for GTA Online is probably not planned
Presumably not much will change when it comes to crossplay and GTA Online. We can only hope that the developers at Rockstar Games will perhaps integrate crossplay support with the release of GTA 6.
