Looks like Control won’t be part of the Xbox Game Pass yet

Phil Spencer recently stated that Control will also be part of the Xbox Game Pass, but developers seem to have a different opinion.

It seems like a very active period in the life of the Xbox Game Pass: Microsoft recently announced the addition of nine new games to the PC version of the subscription system, and today Phil Spencer spoke on Mixer. Spencer was just streaming Halo: Reach when he said he thought Remedy’s Control was a very good game, and he’s very happy that Game Pass will soon be part of such a program.

Needless to say, the internet was immediately upset upon hearing the statement, but recently the rumor came from the safest place in existence: straight from the Remedy team. Control’s Twitter account has posted a brief but marrowing message describing Phil Spencer’s statement is wrong and has nothing to do with Game Pass at the moment, and they have no plans to show up on Microsoft’s subscription service in the near future. Players, on the other hand, failed to convince them: during the tweet, a lot of people suspect they are denying that their sales won’t drop while everyone waits for their Control Game Pass debut.

The information about Control coming to Xbox Game Pass as reported on a recent Mixer stream is incorrect. We have no news or announcements regarding Xbox Game Pass at this time.
