Porsche Pavilion honored with the Automotive Brand Award
The Porsche Pavilion of the Dr. Ing.hc F. Porsche AG in the Autostadt in Wolfsburg is awarded the Design Prize Automotive Brand Award 2012 in the category “Best of Best – Architecture”. The German Design Council wants to honor the imposing Porsche exhibition building, which is becoming an eye-catcher in the Wolfsburg park and lagoon landscape thanks to its innovative construction.
The Porsche Pavilion was created in close cooperation between the sports car manufacturer and Autostadt GmbH with the Henn architecture office, HG Merz Architects, Museum Designer and Jangled Nerves (staging) and WES & Partner Architects. The pavilion opened on June 12 of this year.
Brand communication as a key success factor
Making company messages emotionally understandable and staging consistently across all media and products – these are the criteria for success in the “Automotive Brand Contest 2012”. In the past few weeks, an international jury of experts selected the winners of the design competition from over 350 submissions from the automotive industry and underlined that brand communication is a key factor in the company’s success.
Competition held for the second time
The German Design Council is one of the leading competence centers for design and for the second time organizes the international competition for automobile brands, suppliers as well as design and branding agencies. The participants compete in competition categories such as exterior, interior, concepts, brand design, campaigns, events and architecture as well as in the special categories innovation, team, brand and agency of the year.
The award ceremony for the Automotive Brand Award 2012 will take place on September 27 at the Paris automobile fair “Mondial de l`Automobile”.
