The Grand Theft Auto Games have been floating far above other games’ soundtracks in their own musical stratosphere for so long that it’s almost unfair to compare them. It’s no surprise that GTA V will have a phenomenal soundtrack, as the tracklist has been known for a few days due to a leak. But now it has Rock star started to reveal official information that the music even better make appear.
Rolling Stones received information from Rockstar about the radio stations and the well-known DJs who will be playing there. Besides, there was Rock star Soundtrack supervisor Ivan Pavlovich, the magazine gave a detailed interview. If you are a fan of the music of GTA are, you should definitely read. Rolling Stones also received music samples from some of the stations (links to these can be found below).
Here is the most important information:
-
In GTA V There will be 15 radio stations, two talk show radio stations, 240 (!!) licensed songs and Pavlovich according to “20 movies’ worth of score”. That’s officially a lot of music.
-
Some very well-known personalities have been recruited as radio DJs, including Pam Grier for a soul station, Bootsy Collins for an 80s radio station and Kenny Loggins, who will provide us with classic rock. Hopefully the latter will still be switched on every time you get into a helicopter.
-
The station “Vinewood Boulevard radio” is a radio station dedicated to modern rock Stephen Pope and Nate Williams fromWavves are used as moderators. Listen here into it.
-
“East LOS FM” Radio will feature different types of Mexican music. As a moderator I could Camilo Lara be won. Listen here Sample.
-
“West Coast Classics” is produced by DJ Pooh moderates, who – Pavlovich specifically points out – the film Friday wrote and helped with the script for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas helped. Listen to this here at.
-
“Rebel Radio” gets loud Pavlovich Play “outlaw country” music and from Jesco White moderated. Hear yourself here a sample.
-
The original music – a novelty within the framework of the GTA Row— sounds very ambitious. Pavlovich says that the specially created musical accompaniment will be the combination of the work of three composers: Edgar Froese from Tangerine Dream, Woody Jacksonwho made the music for Red Dead Redemption and LA Noire wrote, as well Alchemist and Oh No.
Pavlovich explains how the music will work in the game:
Although each of these composers is used to define a character or an environment, what’s been interesting about this process is that it’s been the first fully collaborative score that we’ve done. Even though you may be triggering one score with a particular character or within a particular area in the world, you’re always hearing elements from the other composers. The first time you come into the country you’re blown away by Woody Jackson’s rock score, but within that you’re still hearing elements of Tangerine Dream, and Alchemist and Oh No. So you’re never too far away from this core sound that we’ve established for the game.P
That sounds really great. Considering Rockstar’s recent success with original soundtracks (Max Payne 3, LA Noire) was, you can rely on the music for GTA V just rejoice unreservedly.
-
Probably the coolest thing is the fact that the (excellent) DJFlying Lotuswhich will mix music for another station – it’s called FlyLo FM. Pitchfork has the complete tracklist and a sampler:
-
Flying Lotus will also be with the rapper Tyler the Creator collaborate and create an original song GTA V contribute. Pavlovich According to Tyler, San Andreas fan of GTA and was more than happy to contribute something to the new game.
Rolling Stones and Pitchfork provide further details. So to me these new radio stations, along with the already leaked ones and the original music, sound more than just great. Hopefully the game can be as convincing visually and in terms of gameplay as it is acoustically…
