It was quite expensive to get the heroes in Star Wars Battlefront II to unlock. Too expensive. Responded to strong and widespread criticism E.A now with one new blog entryannouncing that the cost of unlocking the series’ popular characters will be significantly cheaper.

One of the greatest charms of Star Wars Battlefront II is the chance to take part in huge battles from the films and play as one of the most famous characters, such as Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader. Last weekend fans calculated, which would be necessary to unlock some of these heroes. In some cases you would have to play for around 40 hours, which caused outrage among fans. The indignation was so great that an answer was given E.A defending the decision to price heroes at high prices became the most negatively reviewed post in Reddit history. In one new blog entry It has now been announced that the price of heroes will be reduced by 75%, allowing players to run around much faster than their favorite characters. It cost 60,000 “in-game credits” to unlock Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, but now each should only cost 15,000. The prices for Emperor Palpatine, Chewbacca and Leia Organa decrease from 40,000 to 10,000 credits. Iden Versio, the protagonist of the game, is available for 5000 credits after the price reduction.

“It’s a big change, and it’s one we can make quickly,” says the blog entry. “It will be live today, with an update that is getting loaded into the game.”

This change comes as criticism of the game’s loot box-based progression system, which allows players to pay for in-game benefits, has yet to subside. The blog entry also announced an upcoming Reddit AMA with members of the development team, which is scheduled to take place today. Players demanded from E.A, to reduce the cost of heroes, and it was done. Maybe we’ll get a playable Jar Jar Binks now, what do you think?

Star Wars Battlefront II will be released on November 17th for Playstation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. Players who pre-ordered the game can start playing today… with cheaper heroes, too.
