The other day, Valve summarized the results of voting for the best games at the Steam Awards 2022, where Cyberpunk 2077 received an award in the Favorite Child category. As it turned out, not all players agree with this conclusion, as a result of which a new portion of criticism poured into the project.

After the voting results were announced, the number of negative reviews almost tripled. In it, players primarily complain that the game does not deserve the Favorite Child Award, arguing that the project only won in this category thanks to the hype surrounding the anime series Cyberpunk: Edge Runners (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners).

“Without Edgerunners, this game would be forgotten and remembered as an example of why you should never pre-order a digital game.” – Merlin

“The only reason people think the game is good right now is because of the Edgerunners anime. Do not be fooled.” –Churchilla.

“Edgerunners is the most successful gaslighting campaign in history” – Austin.

However, not all gamers agree with the criticism of Cyberpunk 2077. The number of positive reviews about the project in the last few days still exceeds negative reviews. At the time of writing, the game’s overall rating is 79%.

Remember that a full-fledged DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 called Phantom Liberty is currently in development. It will be published later this year. The expansion will feature a character played by actor Idris Elba. Using the PlayStation 5 in an upright position may cause damage
