Background: Media: Development of the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has been put on hold. A release of the game before 2025 is unlikely. At the end of July, Jason Schreier reported that Embracer Group had “frozen” development of Aspyr Media’s Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake. Today, the publisher announced in a recent financial report that one of the AAA projects had to be acquired by another internal studio.
According to Embracer, new developers will release the game with the quality it deserves. The company does not disclose the name of the studio. If this really is a KOTOR remake, then it could be Saber Interactive that served as support.
Saber Interactive published World War Z and Evil Dead: The Game and helped CD Projekt RED port The Witcher 3 to the Nintendo Switch. The studio was also working on a next-generation version of Wild Hunt, but due to events in the world, agreements with it were terminated.
