Hate them or hate them, but the fact is that the Ewoks will forever remain part of the Star Wars mythology, in all parallel universes – except BioShock Infinite’s Revenge of the Jedi universe. Probably. As part of Update 2.3, the cuddly murderous Rebels – or one in particular – will be added as the latest companion character to the MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic. Welcome Treek, a heavy armor user who can be used as both a healer and a tank, but will probably be chosen by most for his sweet furry face.

The update, now on the public test servers, adds Treek to the game’s Cartel Bazaar. To get them to join you, you’ll need to buy an expensive mercenary contract for 1 million credits (the price may change until the update hits the live servers). You also need to be at Legacy Level 40 and be able to tolerate that annoying Ewok noise. You certainly know what is meant. Dulfy.net has all the details about Treek, including some cinematic sequences that contain spoilers.

Now all that’s missing is Jar Jar Binks and – on second thought, dear people at BioWare, please don’t do this to us.
