Your GTA 5 doesn’t start or stops working on the PS4 or Xbox One after you downloaded it or installed the latest update? If you are having problems with crashes or cannot get into Los Santos, then you may find some causes and possible solutions to the problems and error messages in the following article. A few days ago, after what felt like an eternity, the time had finally come and Rockstar Games brought the very successful and, above all, very popular game GTA 5 to the next-gen consoles. The new version for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One not only impresses with greatly improved graphics, but the new version also has a lot to offer in terms of functions. In addition to a few smaller innovations, you now also have the opportunity to explore the beautiful and huge Los Santos in the first person perspective. It may not sound so spectacular when you read it, but once you’ve played it yourself, it’s definitely impressive and GTA 5 on the PS4 and Xbox One feels completely different. Even though the game runs without major problems for many people, in the last few weeks you have read about messages like “GTA 5 no longer works” or GTA 5 won’t start on the PS4 or Xbox One. The reason for this is apparently a faulty update, for which Rockstar already has a solution.

GTA 5 no longer works after the update: Error CE-32937-4

As part of the release of the update with version number 1.02, there were increasing reports from some players that GTA 5 no longer works and therefore can no longer be started on the Xbox One or PS4. In this context, the error code CE-32937-4 was frequently reported. This update was actually intended to resolve the initial problems with character transfer that we had already reported on. It didn’t work for every player to move their old GTA 5 Online account from the PS3 to the PS4.

GTA 5 no longer starts on PS4 or Xbox One after update 1.03

GTA 5 no longer starts after update to 1.03 (PS4 and Xbox One)

A few days ago the update with version number 1.04 for GTA 5 was released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but this apparently also causes some problems for some players. Some players on Reddit and in the well-known forums are reporting that GTA 5 can no longer be started. Sometimes it is described that although the update 1.03 runs smoothly, the game cannot be started later and sometimes you can read that it stops at a certain percentage and the update process is not completed. One user reported that the update remains at 20 percent and GTA 5 does not start on the PS4. The error message “CE-34878-0” appears every now and then.

Workaround for the problem after the update

If you cannot start and play the game even after waiting for a while, it is recommended to reset the entire console in the form of the PS4. Not particularly satisfactory, as it also deletes all games on the console. Even though it’s not exactly pretty, this workaround should actually help. Some users on reddit reported improvements and the error message “CE-34878-0” no longer appears.

If you want, you are welcome to try it, although you should keep in mind that all games installed on the console will also be removed. Alternatively, you should perhaps try to get the problem under control by simply reinstalling GTA 5. Do you have any other tips on the subject of “GTA 5 won’t start on the PS4 or Xbox One”?
