Changing names in GTA 5 Online later – is that possible?
We’ve been searching the internet for a long time for a way to change his name later, but we haven’t been able to find much that’s useful so far. Although some options are sometimes described for the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, none of them have worked for us so far. So at the moment it’s probably just a matter of waiting and drinking tea until an option finally appears to be able to change your GTA 5 Online name on all platforms.
We found a small workaround for the PS4 and also for the PlayStation 3, which allows you to assign a new name to the game. To do this, you have to create a new user on the PlayStation and then log in with the new PSN ID. This name will then also be displayed in the game. The disadvantage, of course, is that, as far as we know, all saved games cannot be transferred to the new account. This means that you have to unlock and earn everything again.
Certainly not a good workaround, but it’s the only one we know of at the moment. If you were planning on starting over anyway, then this is certainly a way to change your GTA Online name.
