Last weekend my buddy Franklin went in GTA V With a good raid you finally get a lot of money. The guy loves to drive fast, so I decided to buy him a nice new sports car. But when he got home and looked in the garage, the car was nowhere to be found. Was the master car thief Fraklin himself the victim of car theft?

Not really. As it turned out, he (and I) fell victim to a nasty one GTA V Bugs. Rockstar customer service players should avoid avoiding the game’s garages as the developers scramble to fix a bug that is causing cars and car upgrades to mysteriously disappear.

From Rock star:

We have received some reports about problems with cars and garages, particularly after upgrading and then completing a mission, and are looking into this now. Unfortunately, we do not currently have a workaround to recover a car if it is missing. If you would like to receive an automatic email notification as soon as there is more information, please log into the Support Site and click Subscribe at the top of this page.

They later added an update mentioning a possible cause:

This issue may occur if you drive another character’s personal vehicle. We are looking into a fix to prevent this from occurring in the future. If you would like to receive an automatic email notification when the fix is live, please log into the Support Site and click Subscribe at the top of this page. In the meantime, please try to avoid parking a car in a garage, driving one already in a garage, or getting in a default vehicle, when playing as a character other than the one with your upgrades. P

I encountered the bug when I ordered a $250,000 sports car online in-game while another, less expensive car was sitting in my garage. (Yes, I know: why buy a vehicle when you can steal one so easily? I was hoping to get Fraklin something faster and cooler than the car he came with.) After learning that my car had been delivered, I came home to find that the same sedan was still in the garage and not the sports car. I got rid of the first car, but the beautiful new sports car still didn’t show up. I looked at the police tow yard in the game: nothing.

Where is Franklin’s sports car? He’s out there somewhere. In any case, I will refrain from ordering another one until Rock star gets his garages in order.
