Hey, put that pitchfork away before you gouge someone’s eye out with it. No, the PC version of GTA V has not been canceled and it cannot be assumed that it will be canceled in the near or distant future.

Yesterday there was a huge uproar on the Internet after the fairly unknown website foxweekly an exclusive interview with the boss of Ranticthe company responsible for marketing GTA V, published in which it seemed to reveal some unpleasant news.

John Hoffberger said:

The next-gen console launch dates are still intact, but the PC game launch has been agitating for Rockstar staff”

and

Rockstar never wanted to release a PC version of GTA V, but due to high public demand, they were forced to do so”

Then it became official Rantic Linked to a website that appears to have been hacked by 4chan. So there are two things that make this news obviously misinformation, a fake. First of all, no marketing company would risk its reputation by revealing such information to a little-known website, and even if the company were so incompetent, it would not be informed in advance of any plans not to release a particular version of a game .

Rock star is one of the most secretive developers on the planet and the last party that would receive information about problems with the development of games or specific versions of games is a small marketing company doing a little work somewhere. It should also not go unmentioned that Rantics website hasn’t been active for over a year and the domain was last used for the website of the pretty bad record company Rantic Records has been used.

I cannot confirm with 100% certainty that the PC version of GTA V has not been canceled, but I can say with 99.99% certainty that the reports that this version has been canceled are false and were simply spread to attract traffic to one or more websites. There is no logical reason why there should be any problems developing the PC version, since all games are developed on the PC and then ported to the consoles. So seriously, put down the pitchfork.
