Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a direct sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. We once again play as Cal Castis, a Jedi who survived Order 66 and is now forced to hide from the Empire. Unfortunately, there is no Russian language in the game, not even in the subtitles, not to mention the voice acting. In this guide we will tell you if this game will see domestic localization.

There were examples in the industry when subtitles in Russian were added to the game a few months after release. An illustrative example is Hitman 3. The project was released on January 20, 2021, and we received localization for our country only on July 27. It was added with patch 3.5. However, the lack of Russian language at the beginning was then explained by IO Interactive’s desire to save money and not spend money on a region with low sales.

Why is there no Russian language in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor?

In the case of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor the situation is different. We won’t go into detail, but completely rejecting localization is a serious decision made at the level of current EA Games policy. Therefore, most likely there will be no repeat of history with Hitman 3, and the Russian language will never be included in the official version of the game.

At the time of writing this guide, the first crackers with voice acting have already appeared on the network. However, they represent a machine translation in which the entire text is translated literally. This allows you to grasp the main point of the plot, but many details and subtleties of the word game remain incomprehensible. Better localizations from fans will certainly come out later. As soon as this happens, we will update this guide.

It was also announced that the studio GamesVoice, known for high-quality translations of video games, announced a fundraising campaign for the full voice acting of Jedi: Survivor. But work on it hasn’t even started yet, so it will take a long time.

When it comes to crackers, we are talking about the PC version of the project. If you play on the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S consoles, the translation into Russian will most likely not be expected.
