How to defeat the Rancor in the new Star Wars Jedi Survivor? What do you have to consider when fighting the rancor and how can you kill the boss opponent as quickly as possible? In the Jedi Fallen Order sequel, you will encounter various bosses over the course of the story. As usual from the first part, the fights are pretty tough, especially if you play on a higher level of difficulty. On the planet Koboh, in the sticky bog, you’ll encounter the first major boss, and it’s a rancor. If you have a few problems during the fight and don’t know how to defeat Rancor, our tips may help.

Defeating Rancor: Tips for the first boss opponent

In order to defeat the Rancor, you really only need to know its attacks and how best to react and counter them (see below). For combat, we recommend two lightsabers, as they allow you to be a bit more agile and deal more damage in the short time you can attack him. In battle, you should be at a medium distance from the boss (4-5 meters), so that you can dodge his attacks and get to him so that you can deal damage yourself after his attack. It is also important here not to be too greedy and after each dodged attack it is best to only carry out 2-3 attacks and withdraw in order to avoid damage. In between, of course, use the Stim Packs and heal.

Attacks from the rancor

  • Stomp Attack: When you get very close to the rancor, it will do a stomp attack. He stomps his feet on the ground, dealing damage in a small area. It is best to avoid the attack without attacking it, otherwise you will usually take damage.
  • Slam Attack: When standing close to the rancor, he will most likely do the “slam attack” where he flashes red briefly, charges up the smash, and then slams the ground. Then a shock wave with boulders is thrown forward over which you can simply jump over it. After that, you have a few seconds in which to inflict some damage on the rancor.
  • Charge Attack: In addition to the stomp attack and slam attack, the rancor also performs a “charge attack” in which it charges at you and tries to grab you. If the rancor gets their hands on you, you’re dead instantly. But this attack can also be easily dodged with the right timing. As soon as the rancor lights up red you can dodge to the front right or front left. If you dodge successfully, you’ll have a few more seconds to deal damage with your lightsaber.
