Who doesn’t love a story about trench coat-wearing cybernetic soldiers who wear sunglasses even indoors and uncover nefarious plans of various organizations that rule the world? Exactly, we all love them. This explains why Deus Ex is still being spiced up with fantastic mods. After spending a few years in a development lab, the Nihilum Mod is now ready to hit the public on June 3rd as a fully dubbed alternate story centered around the green-loving UNATCO and a journey to a futuristic Hong Kong.

Its creator FastGamerr explains the starting point of the story: “In the wake of a sudden terrorist attack in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen, the neighboring Hong Kong is feared to be the next target. The discovery of international terrorist involvement in the case leads the Chinese into requesting UNATCO assistance with the investigation. UNATCO dispatches their first nano-augmented agent, Mad Ingram, to assist the Chinese and prevent the crisis from escalating any further. Little does he know that this mission is merely the beginning of larger events that will leave a definite mark on his life.”

Mad Ingram definitely sounds like the name of a guy more inclined to have tiny robots floating around in his blood than JC Denton. Ingram not only hangs out in Hong Kong’s Kowloon district, but also goes on a kind of trip around the world that also takes him to New York. FastGamerr says the mod’s content was developed from the ground up. The texture and content mods UNATCO Born and Revision offered a little help. The story can be completed in 7-9 hours.

Aim your robot eye beams at Nihilum’s Mod DB page where you’ll find beautiful screenshots. If you have a deep, sensual voice (Barry White!), FastGamerr would like to hire you as the voice of Mad Ingram himself.
